    • At that age he was probably eating one or two meals a day. Started three square meals at nine months.

    • we started rice cereal at 6 months, so I would imagine we were still feeding just once a day at this point, but probably soon after moved to two times-

    • OP: thanks, guys. Up until now I've roughly been following the Baby Whisperer routine which seems to drop off at this age. Just interested in what a rule of thumb would be

    • NP uh oh - it sounds like I'm over feeding. We're giving our 6 mos old cereal once and a vegetable twice a day.

      • OP: nah, doesn't sound like it to be honest. We're giving ds a "breakfast" combo that generally involves a few things (veg, cereal, yogurt, egg, fruit) until he's full and whatever formula he wants to wash it down. The same at next meal, then formula for the rest

      • depends on when you started feeding- we didn't even do cereal until 6 months exactly.

        • my dd is really big so we started at 5 and half months. She had been showing all the signs of being ready so I started a bit early.

      • I wouldn't worry. My Ped had me start cereals at 4 months. By 6 months my DD was eating 3 meals a day.

    • i think 2x/day. just make sure primary source of nutrition is still BM or formula.

      • OP: thanks for this. I don't have a Dr's appt for a few months- when does the ratio change, i.e. formula less, solid more?
