Don't know how to get the word out but I was witness to some pretty apalling behavior from the care-takers/teachers(?)of The Preschool of America yesterday. A friend and I were at a story-hour at the Library on 96th between Lex & Third. In the first row, there were about 8 2 year olds wearing yellow vests with Preschool of America written on them. The kids were obviously tired and restless (one kids kept on nodding off in her seat), and the two women watching them were sitting at the side, paying all their attention to their cellphones and not the kids. Many times, one little girl was crying (because the kid next to her was pulling her hair) and all the women would do was point their fingers at the little girl and say hush in a stern voice. At one point, one woman took a boy by the arm and dragged him over to her and had him sit on the foor. The women were young girls, latino, and no more than in their early 20s and as I said they only paid attention to their cellphones (emails?). They were acting as if they didn't even like the kids. If I were a parent, I would want to know that my kids were treated this way. My friend called 311 and she was told that they were going to send someone over to check out the complaint. I am posting this here in the hopes that some parents from the school are reading this. They should definitely know that their kids are not being taken care of well.
