Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

Can someone explain to me how I can feel good about giving my baby the dtap vaccine? I have already done two rounds and yesterday I googled dtap and found sites dedicated to how it permanently disable children. Especially the laterr doses. Many sites. I feel sick about it.
5 replies [ Reply | Watch | Moreoh my gosh, there are all kinds of crazy things on the internet. i bet you don't believe all of them. why choose to torture yourself over this? there is the same amount of evidence for the dangers of dtap as there are for x-file style alien conspiracies. if you really want to make yourself feel better and learn more about this issue, look at the actual studies that have been performed to try and look at possible negative effects of vaccinations. you can look at pubmedcentral, which has a ton of free articles. anybody can put up a crazy website!

i'm an epidemiologist. this isn't the area i typically work in, but i have studied the issue of vaccines in general, since i'm a mom too :) i don't feel the slightest worry about having my child vaccinated. honestly. i know you probably don't want to take my word for it, so do your own research. you'll see! the guy who was kind of the founder of the vaccines and autism theory has admitted that he falsified data, and subsequent studies that have been performed to examine a possible relationship have turned up nothing. i think the media and special interest groups have been totally irresponsible to keep scaring people about vaccinations this way. it really scares parents who just want to do their best.
