I am delivering at NYU. Has anyone delivered there? Thoughts about the hospital and experience in general? TIA.

    • good luck getting into the elevator even when you go to actually deliver - major crowds. i also experienced crowds the day I delivered and I had to wait for a delivery room. when they are really crowded, they may actually letyou delivery in the OR side. it is great if you have any complications, but for ordinary deliveries - it is crowded, and the maternity room floors are very small. only four private rooms with a major waiting list that the dads run to put their name on a waiting list.

    • they are fantastic for labor, delivery and recovery. Delivered there with both dc's. The nurses in the mother/baby unit are a mixed bag. Either they suck or they are great. The rooms are tiny. Would have signed out early but my apt at the time was not much bigger...if possible get a room in the mom/baby unit as far as possible from the nursery. The night nurses are obnoxiously loud. Good luck!

      • TOTALLY AGREE. the night nurses are a bitch. I asked them to quiet down as my room was right outside their station and the one with the curly hair and British accent replied "What do you expect ? this is the labor and maternity ward". As if she was the one in labor?
