How many times a week do you workout if you do? Is it really critical to take a full day off exercise if you are not working the same parts or just doing light cardio some days?

    • no you don't have to take a day off. just work other muscles. cardio daily is fine.

      • so said the obsessive exerciser. The answer really depends what kind of cardio you're doing and for how long. An hour a day of running is not ok. 20 minutes of running is.

              • Sometimes i'll take one in the jogger but most of the time I go alone since the kids are not up until 7ish and I am back home by then. Honestly running is a lifesaver for me it's the only time I get for me.

        • older kid in school, younger kid naps in jog stroller while running. frankly, i can't wait for younger kid to be in school so i can ditch the equipment.

    • It is not critical to take a day off. But it may be beneficial if you are training hard. When I worked out 6-7Xweek my trainer and I often saw gains after I had taken a week off for a vacation or whatever. If you are working out every day rather than every other day, it does help to "refuel" within an hour of your workout - chocolate milk has a good balance of carbs & protein for this. You will find you have more energy for your workouts if you do this.
