    • Preschool teacher told me they all do this at exactly this age - she said it's like everything is a competition: I did it higher, faster, better! She laughed but also looked a bit worn out by it ;)

    • I have a 2 year old and on Wednesday's I watch a 6 year old who loves to play superior to my dd. She's 4 years older but loves to boast about how she does everything better than my dd. Bugs me to no end but school will start up soon and then I won't have to worry about it any longer.

    • i hate 4yo kids. they are across the board the nastiest kids b/c they have no idea when they are being mean. they ridicule and put other kids down and don't even know they are doing it.

        • i guess i'm just in a bad mood. i have a 4yo ds who had a friend over today who constantly criticized my ds on all the things he can't do well. and he's not doing it to be mean, he just has no idea of when to not say what he's thinking. we have a 4yo next door as well who does the same thing. constantly coming over and saying "why are you doing it that way, that's wrong" or "your picture isn't as nice as mine" or stuff like that.

          • ok, i know what you mean about the irritating playdates. i think my son was especially bad about doing that, and i remember telling him over and over that it was ok for people to do things their own way! hopefully your ds shrugs it off. you're lucky if he doessn't do that himself!

            • i don't notice him doing it but he might very well be saying things like that when he goes to other people's houses. i'm thinking he doesn't b/c he's a very laid back kid - doesn't care if he does things the best way and doesn't care if other people do either. but it's quite possible he's doing it too.
