We moved to burbs so kids will go to highly regarded public schools and I can take time off from work. With HHI of $450 combined, we could not make owning an apt, 2 dcs in private plus full time nanny work in NYC. That is pathetic although do worry that education would have have been better in NYC the peers not so much.
12 replies [ Reply | Watch | MoreIf they're highly regarded public schools you should be fine. In city I'd worry more about small pool of classmates to choose from as friends in private. In public you find the right friends, don't have to choose from what's available.
[ Reply | More ]op: we thought kids were nice but the some of them came from so much money and lived in huge apts with multiple summer homes, tons of toys, and drivers. we noticed ds began to notice the differences and did not want my child to grow up always feeling like a have not. we feel here there is a better balance of families
