I have a home alarm system and I want to switch from a landline to cablevision voice. IS this going to be a problem?
3 replies [ Reply | Watch | Morei wish someone would have warned me! i have OPTIMUM VOICE and don't like it at all. the phone is connected through the modem. if you have modem trouble, you're not only left without an internet connection and phone, but your home security [which is connected through your phone system] system doesn't work either. if you don't have a cell phone, you're left completely without any way to contact the outside world. i don't recommend OPTIMUM VOICE, or any phone service that is totally dependent on a modem to work.
