I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and I feel huge! I've only put on a few pounds..but I feel like my legs already look chubby...and I'm getting that pregnant fat look I had with my 1st (I gained 60 with her). I'm trying very hard to watch my diet and exercise..but of course, I have my weaknesses. why do I look so chubby already?

    • don't know, but this is totally common...the same thing happened to me and many other moms on this board. at 12 or 13 weeks i felt everything shrinking down a bit so i think it was a lot of water weight or something, and now i feel like i'm on a much more normal trajectory.

    • I was just thinking the same think last night about myself! I looked it up in my Mayo Clinic preg book from the first time around, and it said that women who have already been pregnant are like deflated balloons - they inflate alot more easily and quickly than first timers. They called it the "warmed up effect"...
