  • Anyone have success with a single embryo transfer? I am doing my first IVF cycle and I let my RE talk me into transferring just one embryo. He was very convincing, but now I'm worried that I made the wrong choice.

    • do you want multiples? Are you willing to reduce? And your RE must think your chances are pretty good.....

    • OP here. I wouldn't mind twins, definitely would not reduce. My RE told me that twin pregnancies are higher risk, and it's harder to raise babies two at a time, etc. I had two very promising day 5 embryos, so he said trying one was a good option for me. I just hope I didn't go through all that to have it fail.

    • i am doing a single embryo transfer in a few weeks. ive heard of lots of sucess stories. this will be my first fozen cycle. first fresh ivf gave me a twin pregnancy - lost one in second trimester and now have a beautiful year old DS. transfering more than one embryo doesnt increase preg rates, only increases chance of multiples. GL!
