  • So humor me. Did you ever wonder if you could love a second dc as much as your first?

    • i am expecting my 2nd now and i think about it often. i feel like i'm "betraying" dd since we're together all the time now and we're two peas in a pod, and i adore her so much i wonder if it's possible to love another child as much. every person i've ever spoken to about this says you/i will definitely love #2 as much.

    • I struggle a LOT w/ how I was going to feel about dc2. I was utterly in love w/ dc1 and couldn't believe I'd ever feel the same for another kid. I was wrong and then some. My dc2 is the light of my life and I can't imagine NOT having her around. However, I remember post-delivery that I apologized to dc1 for "betraying" him, lol

    • i am also pg with #2. i look at my dd and i just can't imagine loving anyone as much as her. i just found out the sex, and i am definitely starting to feel more bonded with the db#2...it made it more real for me.

      • I didn't believe anyone when they told me that I'd have no problem bonding w/ #2 because they couldn't POSSIBLY understand my relationship w/ #1. lol. But here I am, telling you to trust me that you do love #2 just as much as #1 :)

    • My mother told me a couple years ago, after a couple glasses of wine, that she definitely always loved me more than my younger brother. Kind of weird, I think. Is it dumb that I was oddly flattered?

    • When I was pg with #2 I never thought I could love another DC as much as #1. We had our own little world together. But your heart will expand to love both equally as much.

    • yup, because dd1 was "perfect in every way." dd2 is a firecracker, a daredevil, and downright sneaky about getting what she wants, nothing like dd1! and yes, i love her as much as dd1 and frankly enjoy almost every gray hair she is giving me.
