UrbanBaby - DH and I are planning to move to Westche...

DH and I are planning to move to Westchester soon. DD will be starting Kindergarten in Fall '10 and we're thinking about (applying to) Hackley - does anyone have DC's there? Any opinions/reputations? Seems like a lovely school from all we've read. TIA

- I have a friend (male) who went there...he said it was VERY expensive, very good Kindergarten and BIG on athletes for HS (which surprised me)...sorry I don't have anything else!

- It's the best private school in Westchester. Hackley has similar college placement to Fieldston and Packer. They use Singapore Math.

- Friends with kids there like it very much, and found it comparable to the Hill schools.

- If you are moving to Westchester which has some of the best public schools why would you go private?

  - Just an option since we are lucky enough to be able to afford it, and DH and I both went to private (in different states, granted) and loved our experiences. Definitely not against public school, we just like some of the private school emphases a little better (character development, community service, etc.)
