I don't get people who put diapers and bottles on their baby registry. Why would I want to buy you diapers as a shower gift??

    • I did it to make it easier for DH to do a Buy Buy Baby run - this way he knew exactly which brand/size/type I wanted.

    • Because you don't want to come off like the cunt you clearly are in real life. People put diapers on there because they think people wont buy them, and it is the thing they will need the most of. Not bibs or pink onesies. Why don't you stop acting like a stuck up cow and buy them the diapers AND a gift. Problem solved

      • OH brother! Here's the moron that likes to go around calling everybody a c***. Good god, she just asked a question and since you didn't like it you had to call her a c***? Idiot.

    • When people realize that a pack of diapers ranges to between $25-$30, it is a gift that someone who doesn't have a lot of money can buy for you. Plus, diapers are expensive considering how many of them you will have to buy in the long run. I have been to baby showers where the entrance fee was a pack of diapers, then on top of that you still needed a gift.

      • Yeah, really..."entrance fee?" Are you friggin' kidding me? I did go to a baby shower where it was optional to bring a pack of diapers and if you did then you were entered into a drawing for a gift...but "entrance fee?" That's fucking lame.

      • It was meant to be funny. Most people didn't have to bring diapers to get in but it was something one lady did because her dh was deployed and there would be 'running out in the middle of the night' to buy diapers. Loosen up people. Geez.

    • because some people need all the help they can get, and whereas $20 may not be a big deal to you, it might be to them...especially when all those expenses add up.

      • If $20 is a big deal and you're worried about buying diapers then you're in NO financial situation to have children and shouldn't be having them. jmho.

    • because it is a gift that is actually helpful, and the shower is supposed to be about helping the couple get ready for a baby!

    • On other message boards, I've heard people say they put diapers/wipes on their registry and then proceed to beyotch and moan that they actually GOT diapers/wipe and how cheap that person was! Then you find out that some people actually use a registry as a shopping list. You can't win. I stay away from diapers/wipes! LOL.

    • i didn't do a shower but my friends who do put those items on there for the guests who might not be able to afford a whole lot...so they can buy diapers and a set of onsies and not feel like they came empty-handed without spending too much. it's always smart to have low-ticket items on registries for that reason, and also in case someone wants to buy a gift and a small "extra".

    • Funny, right after I had my baby I decided that I would become the person that gave diapers, wipes, gas drops, trivosol and the nasal aspirator. So they are putting them on the registry for me.
