Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

Tell me some fun things to do while visiting Boston in August! It's going to be me and my 1.5 year old visiting a friend and I'm trying to find some fun unique things to do. Thanks!

[ Reply | More ]Take a ride on the swan boat in the public gardens. Visit the children's museum. Go to the aquarium. Wander around Faneuil Hall. Walk around Harvard Square and Harvard Yard. Take a walk along the river. Those will all be stimulating and enjoyable for both you and your dc.
[ Reply | More ]Harvard Square is fun and there are a couple of great toy/books/clothing stores for kids. And Beacon Hill/Charles Street, also on the Red Line and right next to the Common and the Public Garden. The Common has a great playground and the "Frog Pond" which is a nice big splash pool for kids.

OP: Also, what are some fun unique stores? I like scrapbooking, antiques, any lost and found type of place. Thanks! It's my first time visiting and I want to get a lot out of it... Probably should just relax though. lol

lol--it's a very long street! Starts at the top of Beacon Hill (where the Common etc. is) and goes way out to...Boston College! But you'll be close to a lot of good stuff. Charles St./Beacon Hill has some great antique stores (pricey though) and some good shopping (Red Wagon for kids, Koo de Kir for home design, Black Ink for paper goods and quirky fun stuff). Have a great time!
