My mother-in-law just got me a nifty plat mat - this thing is really cool. I had never seen it before so I wanted to tell everyone about it – it is so freaking useful. It is called the SoftSpot by Wozzy and is a round mat that folds to the shape of a pie – and it has handles making it super easy to hang off your stroller handle or throw in the back of your car. I started using it mostly in my house with one of their removable covers (mine is polka dot and really cute). I plopped Ava on it with her toys while I got stuff done around the house – she really loves tummy time on this thing. But when we started getting out of the house more when the weather warmed up, we were literally taking it everywhere. It is water resistant and antibacterial which makes it great for the park or my son’s soccer games. We took it to a beach rental and it was awesome to keep the baby off the yucky floors. My mom-in-law got mine at buybuyBABY but I think you can order online on their site too http://www.softspotbywozzy.com. It’s my new staple shower gift – a little pricey but SO WORTH it.

    • I don't see a single use for this mat. A regular blanket from home would be larger and save me $100 or $140 with the cover. This is not going to make it except with rich people who buy to much expensive stuff that they will never use.

      • np My hhi probably qualifies me as "rich", but I would never buy this thing. Useless, imo.

    • Dropping the name "Ava" is a big clue that this is spam. Generic baby name for anyone born in 2008-2009.

      • Actually the "Ava" thing is what took it from regular SPAM to SPAM parody.

    • ugg, I remember seeing this at buybuybaby and wondering who the hell would buy this, especially at the ridiculous price. It's huge to lug around and completely unnecessary. Obviously it's not selling well if they feel the need to spam here

      • nonsense there is no way this isn't spam and we all really hate spam here. The person doesn't know any of the abbreviations of this board, or the general rule of NEVER saying names. Plus she posted twice, which is reason enough to suspect

        • ^^^ but since you are probably the OP who spammed in the first place, you can take this all as a lesson on how to do it better:)

          • good god you're a pill. i'm not OP, it sounded like a sincere post. if it's spam UB mods should delete it, but if it's just someone excited about a product we might want to give them the benefit of the doubt.

            • NP: Um, no it didn't sound sincere. It sounded like spam spam spam and having gone and looked at the product, I can see why. It's a $140 gym mat for a 5-month-old baby.

      • i think there has always been ridiculous baby crap, like the $80 onesies which people buy. i'm not one of them but there are a few "unnecessary" items which have truly been wonderful purchases for us.

      • The problem with this lame mat is that Gymini and similar are cheaper--and better.

    • i think you wouldn't be getting flamed as badly if you just came out and said, "i invented this thing and i hope you buy it..." or "i'm trying to market this contraption..." I'm only against spam if it's masquerading as something else.

    • Honestly...aside from the spam factor, this seems as if it would be useful for about six seconds-- and only for a non-crawling baby. And only if you don't have carpeting...or own any blankets. And $100...for real?
