Do you ever ask your nanny to do dc-related errands, specifically shopping for clothes/shoes? ds needs new shoes, Payless is a few blocks away but it was just one errand too many for our weekend. plus I know ds will be totally cooperative for nanny....would she enjoy shopping or is it rude to ask her to do it?

    • My nanny likes doing these things. I don't usually like to give up the control though.

    • I would take my ds for new shoes NEXT weekend, not ask Nanny.

      • because you want to pick out the shoes or because Nanny would not like to do this kind of shopping? I just don't care that much what my dc has on his feet as long as it fits.

        • She probably would say yes and be nice, but really wouldn't want to do it....

    • I don't think the nanny would mind but I would try to do it myself. I don't know, it seems personal to me. YMMV.

    • She probably won't mind, but may be a little nervous that she'll come home with the wrong thing. Be specific about what you need...and gracious when she gets back with Spongebob Squarepants and a story about how your dc wouldn't leave the store without them!

    • it's not rude at all. Just realize that you really are giving up control over what is bought.
