I checked into that private bus for Nest. Is it just me or does $3600 for 9 months of bus service seem like a lot? that's about $25 a day

    • That doesn't seem like a lot to me. Think about the cost of the subway back and forth 2x plus the cost of a sitter to make the trips.

      • well, I can't afford tuition otherwise I would have gone private. That metrocard is going to be the only way I can afford Nest!

        • don't underestimate the power of a metrocard. besides, that way you don't have to hassle with the bus schedule. have a great school year.

    • Sounds exactly right. I think we paid $3400 for Emmanuel Transit last year (and that's PER child).

    • Seems like a steal considering the rest is free. Is this info on a website? I am trying to work out the details for our commute too. Where are you located? Thanks. \

    • think of it as the cost of 2 hrs of babysitting. the kids have a great time and make new friends.

        • you, madam, will no doubt have your private chauffered town car (Escalade? Suburban) do the work instead. The environment does not thank you.

          • i, madam, walk my dc to school rather than send dc on a half-empty bus for two hours a day. the environment does thank me. you? not so much.

          • meh, not like the buses are hybrids either. metrocard is the best solution.
