I think people tend to blame kids for things that are the fault of schools. I know of a very mediocre school where the admins have poor judgment, and the kids have developed all kinds of problems (in part because small problems are handled badly, and get worse). Their preschool is excellent, and the kids behave well there and everything is great. Then the fools running the lower school take over with these same children, and it is a disaster. By second grade there is so much misbehavior, and the kids by then really do have behavior problems. Academic performance is quite mediocre too, and the admins are trying to send many out for evals for potential disabilities (and adhd). The school thinks what they need to improve is better students, but I think they are kidding themselves. So I say, look also at that "peer group" which makes up the administration of the school.

UrbanBaby Asks...
Are you expecting something special from your dh for Valentine's Day?
- Yes, and he's in big trouble if he forgets.
- Yes, but it's not something I care about.
- No, thank goodness.
- No, and I'm already fuming. He's so unromantic!
- Don't know...
