Those of you who got pg soon after a m/c, did you get pg quickly initially? I just read somewhere that fertility is pretty much the same after m/c, so if it took a long time to get pg initially, it'll likely be the same after m/c. I had a m/c last month after ttc for 8 months. I'm just wondering if I should be prepared to wait that long again. :(

    • Took 5 mos to conceive, then m/c but conceived with my dd, now a healthy 7 y o at first normal cycle--6 weeks later. Do not despair! And I was 36....

      • op: Thank you. It's comforting to hear that. I'm 40 and feel like I'm racing against the clock.

    • You are supposed to be even more fertile immediately after a mc. What does your doctor say? Have you considered giving nature a little nudge?

      • op: A NY Times article last fall said there's no real basis for that, and somewhere else I read that one's fertility is the same before and after a m/c. I m/c'd early so I didn't need to see my doctor and haven't actually had a chance to ask her about it beyond that I don't have to wait to try again. Right before I got pg (with the m/c), she had told me to give it another three months and then we'd look into other options (i.e. nudges). I was just wondering if other people's experiences backed up the claim that fertility is higher immediately after a m/c or if it stays about the same. Thank you!

      • My OB told me that fertility's enhanced. And for me, it was: When I went for first u/s after getting pg following mc there were THREE sacs. No fertility treatment. Only one db at the end, though. 36 yo.

    • Got pg first try second time (first time, too, actually), then m/c. Pg first try again after one cycle. Was 36.

      • op: Thank you! If it's okay to ask, how long did it take you to get pg before the m/c?

    • I waited one cycle after the m/c, and got pg first time out of the gate. Now have a healthy 7 yo ds. And I gave birth on my 40th birthday.
