        • i'm with you. I do a lot of fried rice with egg, cheese ravioli, miso soup, shumai (with shrimp but not visible : )-- it is exhausting, isn't it?

          • I would be thrilled if they would eat cheese ravioli. closest we come is grilled cheese

              • irony is, is that I love to cook and no one ( not even dh) will eat anything interesting. I make them have one bite of lots of new food but it's 1 in a 100 that it gets a positive review.

              • this is not at all meant in a snarky manner, but i don't suggest people offer more types of food when asked: instead i tell them to NOT offer the "bad" foods, like nuggets and pizza. the kids will eventually eat the rest when the quick stuff isn't available.

                • I hear you but not all baked chicken nuggets (or fish sticks or quorn patties) are junk. DiFara's pizza rocks as does Franny's. Not all kids are the same and not all will be adventurous. A recent NYT article stated that genetics may be behind the "picky eater". As someone who will try almost any food, and always has a variety of food available, I think they are on to something.

                  • i give my dd the B&E gluten free nuggets sometimes and they really are very good. i meant "bad" as in anything you as a parent might want to serve less often. i think it's all a balance. as long as they get some veggies, some fruit and over the course of a week some healthy stuff, then you shouldn't worry about the rest.
