    • try: www.elkephoto.com, she is a very good photographer, try to negotiate the price, she is flexible - depending on what you want, for example "just photos, but no album" is much cheaper than "with album" (and you can do your album and prints yourself)

      • Definitely use evite.com, it's free and it's convenient (I think). Also, check out www.kristinahill.com for photographs. Tinyprints and companies like that are great for thank you notes. Also - Craigslist for make up artists has been great for me :) Good luck!

    • Based on what I remember from my wedding... Jared Slater photography (jandjphotography.net I think). He was SO incredibly nice and I liked the kids pictures he did. I went to the Mac store for makeup and it was maybe $40 and to Blow for my hair - they specialize in blow outs; and for flowers I know several people that used a store in the flower district. It appears like it could be cheesy, but if you pick something simple it comes out really nice. I am trying to remember the name, ugh. I always use Reaves Engraving for a cheaper Crane look but I'm not sure if they have Bar Mitzvah stuff.

      • - Ugh, I can't remember the florist's name. But you can also go on theknot.com and get ideas. There is a board where people post. I bet some vendors overlap.

    • My friends and I have used this photographer. She took photos at a few birthday parties and even did some portrait parties for our mommy group.

    • For my daughter's Bar Mitzvah we hired Lux Photo Studios (http://LuxPhotos.com) and they did a great job, though we haven't gotten around to ordering our album just yet. They are fairly priced and you get a lot for your buck. Make up was done by Sylvia Dimaki (http://sylviadimaki.com/) - very lovely, professional, a bit on the expensive side though.
