  • question for recent homebuyers. what was the asking price of the home and what did you pay? just curious because we just bid on a place for $40k under asking and crossing my fingers! tia

    • obvioulsy depends on the start price, but this seems like a perfectly reasonable drop for the offer

    • it also depends on the region of the country you live in. in south florida for instance, a $40k difference between asking and selling price isn't odd, but in some other cities $10k is considered reasonable.

    • We bought on the Island in the fall and the comps and what we paid for our house were about 5% below asking.
