How to let a nanny go early? We initially hired our nanny to work through August, but we want to let her go now for a few reasons. The main issue is that she is taking too much unscheduled time off (has been out 11 work days in the past 5 weeks, with pay), but for seemingly good reasons (family emergency, illness). We really like her, but paying her salary and a temp is getting to be too much. Not to mention the vacation days we've had to use to cover part of these times.
