For moms of toddlers--anyone ever have an issue with biting? My dc was bitten at daycare today. They said the same child has done it before and say they are working with him/her but said they couldn't tell me which kid is the culprit. Anyone ever go through this? Is biting common? Not sure whether to treat this like a big deal or not.

    • Yes, biting is common. The mouth is one of the ways kids explore their world. Not too imply that biting is good; however I wouldn't worry too much about it unless skin was broken or it becomes a chronic problem.

    • Yes, most children will bit or be bitten before toddlerhood is over. As long as the daycare is on top of it, I wouldn't worry. As for the culprit, they never tell you, but the kids usually do.

    • OP: OK, I feel better. My kid doesn't bite. I sure hope this doesn't teach her to!
