  • Any West Village parents on with kids around 8 or 9. Want to know what it's like raising a kid in the village. TIA!

      • I am feeling pressure to move "uptown" because of schools, parks, etc. feeling guilty about parks, etc but i really truly feel like myself in the west village. Just wondering what your kids say about it, what they like about it, etc.

        • it's true there's no huge park. but there are ballfields (jimmy walker and pier 40), biking and blading along hudson river park, basketball at the y and places like horatio park, swimming at the y and chelsea piers is also nearby. i'm not sure if by schools you mean private ones, but plenty of people commute uptown for those.
