Does anyone know if there is typically movement in the private school wait list over the summer? Thanks.

    • there are people with K spots in private who are waiting to get the g&t results. Some will give up those private spots so the waitlists will move for that reason. There are also a few (probably very few) people who move or have other changes that mean dropping a spot

    • everyone seems to think that there are going to be masses of people who will drop out before tuitions are due because of the economy, but somehow I don't think that's happening.

      • No, it isn't. Everyone who still has a job is riding it out at least another year. Depending on where the bonuses are then, things may move more but who knows, maybe we'll be back to good old days by then.

        • I agree. everyone at my public school keeps talking about the influx of kids that we are going to have from private. I spoke to the principal and she said they may have gotten 2 or 3 kids coming in in the upper grades but that is about it. Education is not the first thing people are going to cut back on IMO.

    • agree that there won't be spots open because of the economy, but there will be some open spots for other reasons

      • A fair number of TT/2nd tier schools are oversubscribed in K, so WLs likely won't move even if 2-3 kids per K grade drop out.

        • Yes, Dalton took 102 kids(according to head of the school). Way over subscribed. They are waiting to see how many families are pulling out. No way their waiting list will move.
