        • Beautiful beach nearby, quiet, closer that Bridgehampton. Where would you stay?

            • East Quogue is on the bay which is nice. Nearby in Quogue, the beaches on Dune Road are beautiful.

      • Thanks! How are the beaches out on the North Fork? Is it sandy or rocky?

        • OR: I was there in the fall and visited vineyards, so I didn't go to the beaches, sorry. But I am going back this summer for a weekend, so I am eager to hear others' comments about the beaches.

        • depends. The LI Sound beaches are mostly rocky. The Peconic side beaches are sandier. (But not a fine sand like the ocean waves of the south shore create. The grains are about sesame seed sized, maybe a little bigger.)
