Business question - my friend and I recently started a small business where we show small inventories of high-end clothing and jewelry for consignment and resale. We now want to start selling on-line and I'm wondering if you think a website or a blog would be the better way to go? I know blog business is becoming more popular. Any suggestions would be appreciated and does anyone know of inexpensive blog sites to start this project if we go that route? Thanks for the info!

    • I think a blog sounds more interesting. If you're a good storyteller, it would differentiate your "shop" for all the others.

    • Just keep in mind that you will have to post regularly on a blog, at least 3-4 times a week, preferably daily to keep it up. It can potentially be a lot more work. Depends on how much you are willing to commit to.

      • I think the reason people use the blog approach is because it is super easy to update yourself, but you're limited (to an extent) in your page design options, but personally I think it looks less professional, but somewhat OK for a 'craftsy', out of your house kind of feel. If you have the money, get a web designer.

    • If you are going to let people order on-line, you need a website. If you just want to create interest and direct people to your store, a blog would be fine
