In my 2nd trimester and have a pain (kind of sharp but only there when I move or press on it) in my stomach, next to my belly button on one side. It feels muscular. Normal?

    • OP if you are still on, I had all sorts of random aches and pains when pg. They come and go. If it gets really intense, beyond just "irritating", definitely call OB. Probably nothing, but who knows.

      • ITA, if it gets beyond irritating call. The first thing I think of when someone says sharp stomach pain pregnant or not is appendix.

        • thanks - i feel it in the surface of my belly, and on the sort of upper left (near belly button) - not deep down at all. That's why I think muscular (belly is expanding) but who knows?

      • thanks. This has been going on for about 4 days now. It feels like a pulled/stretched muscle (which I'm sure is normal in the belly during pg). it isn't really "intense" - just irritating, you're right! Thanks.

    • I get these all the time- had in my last pregnancy and now in my second trimester- if it gets really uncomfortable- drink tons of water and lie on your left side- the right side is where all the arteries and pregnancy stuff tends to be (sorry, not a dr. so inarticulate there) - calling your dr. is OK if it persists- too-

      • thanks - feels like a muscle knot or something, but in my stomach not back. I try to lie on my left side as much as possible, but I'm a restless sleeper (and my legs are cramping at night too)
