I need some good online stores in which to purchase girl tween clothing that doesn't look slutty. I was at Target and couldn't find but one or two pairs of shorts for dd that were not totally short short! American or European stores, I'll look at them all. I don't want pants with words printed on the ass. I want nice, modest yet cute clothes that don't scream "I'm 10 but trying to look 16".

  - Like anything, the editing is up to you. There's a lot of crap everywhere; the lifespans of tastes and sizes for growing girls is brief and capricious. I stick to Daffy's and buy Tea, Moschino, H&M, Old Navy, some Diesel pieces, Agatha Ruiz delaPrada,Dior,Levi's,Dickie's, my sewing machine and a slew of local and Euro designers. There's just a lot of crap out there.

  - As a mother of daughters and an aunt to LOTS of girls, I can guarantee that clothing styles will be among the lesser challenges.

- not sure your dd's measurements but uniqlo, h&m, gap kids, old navy, american apparel (shorts can be a little short for 10 year-old but other stuff is fine), crewcuts when stuff is on sale, polo when stuff is on sale, maybe patagonia/north face?

- J Crew, Petit Bateau, LL Bean - if you want high-end, Tory Burch, Juicy Couture (not the tacky sweatsuits but the cardigans, dresses, ect. are all very girly age appropriate and sweet)

  - Cherokee boy's shorts at Target come in adorable cargo, flat front, carpenter and 'safari' cuts. They're great for girls. I've seen white, navy, denim, khaki ripstop, twill and even red. They're rugged and great looking.
