Would you support universal healthcare if you knew it meant 1) a 10% decrease in your post tax disposable income, and 2) your in network pediatrician would necessarily be a black person who graduated in the top 50% of his / her class from a public state sponsored medical school? Assume that the aforementioned factors are inextricably linked.

    • wow. you must be a racist troll. i'm a white woman and my ob and my dentist are both black and I have no idea where they went to school or if they were at the top of their class 20+ years ago. Likewise, I don't know where my white pediatrician went to school or what her class rank was. What's your beef with black doctors and schools like UCLA?

    • you really undermine your arguments by injecting the racism into it. It's like you're a jiu-jitsu troll master. Create the illusion that the only reason people think goverment hospitals would be bad is if they are racists. I can think of a lot of other reasons why they'd be bad. The post office, motor vehicles, medicaid nursing homes today. Race is not a factor, shitty service is.

    • I am from the UK where we have universal income. OK so you pay for healthcare as part of your taxes but it isn't significantly more than you guys already pay for heath insurance. In the UK most 'Private' Drs are exactly the same as the NHS ones they do both. In the UK the big difference between NHS and Private healthcare is waiting times NOT quality of care.

    • why would you assume that universal healthcare would look like this? there are all sorts of set-ups. i seriously doubt that one like the one you are describing would ever come to pass. it would probably be more like medicare.

    • I don't care at all what race or gender or sexual orientation or religion my MD's / DDS's are, as long as they take good care of me.
