Can PS 3 & 41 parents please let me know what the class sizes are and what specialty rooms the school has (or has lost). I keep hearing about overcrowding, but the class sizes don't seem big to me. And both schools have great spaces (like PS3's dance studio). Is it really that crowded?

there has been no announcement about what if any cluster rooms 41 will be losing. the incoming k classes will have 25 dcs. but class size is bound to get bigger going forward because they have to fold more k classes into the same number of older grade classsrooms. people complain about the crowding situation, but i think it's those with dcs in older grades with bigger classes and who remember what it was like way back when. my dc's k class doesn't seem overcrowded. there are 22 dcs, a p/t assistant teacher and a p/t student teacher. i don't know how they are going to stretch the resources to cover one more k class, but at the cec meeting john white announced that there would be some concessions by the doe. it was unclear what those would be. hope that helps. gl.
