Hi. I would love some help... I am a SAHM with a 2 year old and find myself going stir-crazy... my DH in finance and while his hours aren't "crazy" he does need to entertain once or twice a week and I am home, alone, AGAIN! My only outlet is once-a-week girls night that involves more drinking (and later nights) than it should, because I feel like I have to pack in my entire social life into one night. Are there any Mommy-and-Me groups downtown that can add stimulation to my life. I love my DC but need something more, and right now getting wasted once or twice a week is not helpful to me or my family. I want to meet other Mom's like me...

    • I'm a WOHM with DH in finance and I don't get a girls-night-out, much less once a week.

      • So your DH just locks you in the apartment every night of the week? Sounds like a terrible life. Are you a WOHM or are you under house arrest?

        • Um, no, but he works in finance so he doesn't get in until late, and even if he did work more reasonable hours I have to go to work the next day so I can't "party" too hard. What kind of a question was this?

          • doesn't sound like too fulfilling a life to me. stay at home 24 hours a day, see DH on weekends, maybe. Ugh, shoot me now.

            • I said I am a WOHM in the original response. I don't get you.

              • NP: And in her second response where she said she has to go to work the next day.

      • But by working out of the home you are out of the house and interacting with people. I don't see your point. This SAHM feels stir crazy because she's in with her 2 yo all day. She's looking for some ways to socialize to feel less stir crazy. Your post is so unhelpful and unnecssarily judgemental. Get a life. SIgned, another WOHM,

      • OP: My life just wasn't so restricted. I worked, I had work dinners/parties, I could go out when I wanted. Now it is like my nights out need to be planned so far in advance and I feel like I need to pack it all in. I always enjoyed the gym, cooking.

        • i wouldn't and don't consider work dinners or parties socializing but that is just me. go to a gym with child care, take kid to classes, invite a friend over to cook a double meal together (she takes 1/2 home).

          • np: I would consider dinner with co-workers socializing, with a customer/prospective customer, definitely not.
