Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

or: in my day, while a good school, sidwell wasn't as good as national cathedral/st. albans, but because of recent prominent students (chelsea and the obama girls), it has come up. sidwell was only slightly better than gds, but a very different philosophy (for example, students at gds call the teachers by their first names.

Sidwell, NCS/St. Alban's, GDS (Maret is often thrown in there too. DC is strange though in that there are a lot of schools that are only for the younger grades. There are some K-8s that are excellent and feed into all of the HS. There are also some K-6 schools and some K-3 schools. Some schools start at 3rd grade instead of K. Cast a wide net. There are many good schools in the area

If you include Northern VA, you'd add The Potomac School and possibly Maderia (all girls) to the list of the top 3/4/5. Potomac has a stronger national reputation and better emissions than some of the "top 4" DC schools. VERY affluent school (in top 5 US zip code by income) and a little more conservative than Sibley
