    • If you were posting this question on DCUM, your computer would've have gone up in smoke from all the flaming. Some folks think EVEN asking about St. Pat's is a declaration of war. From what I can tell, there are group of folks who think St. Pat's is inferior to Beauvoir and mock St. Pat's as second rate. There are St. Pat's parents who will defend the school till the last child is standing, literally. And then there is everyone else in between. Some folks see it as a smaller alternative to Beauvoir, not necessarily placing their DC on the track to a single-sex school on the Catherdral grounds. Others like Beauvoir and also apply to St. Pat's as the schools are similar and they're hedging their odds on admissions. NPS is also in this category. While we didn't apply to any of these schools, and probably don't fit the family profile (hence, why we applied elsewhere), I like all the DCs I know who attend Beauvoir, NPS, and St. Pat's. Sweet kids so I've got to think the school is playing an influential role.

      • Thanks! My DF's child is at St Pat's, and the way they treated the DC sounds pretty terrible. DF mentioned that St. Pat is one of the best schools in the DC are, so she is very conflicted. I am not from DC so I don't know what the hoopla is all about. The schools sounds pretty insensitive and snobby.
