  • Siblings together or apart? We'd always thought we'd send dc #2 to the cheerful, very good gen ed public that dc#1 loves so much -- just found out she was accepted at progressive small school (via lottery) that might be a better fit for her & her quirky artsy ways -- yet better for family and children (socially) to keep them together. WWYD?

    • only you can answer that. i have 3 kids at three different schools -- but it's a LOT of work. But each kid is in the best place for him or her right now.

    • It would have been better for my brother & I to have been in different school, but my parents had no choice. It is not always so cut & dry. Draw up a list of pros and cons

    • Why is it better for the children socially to keep them together? Just curious.... That may help you decide if the reasons are strong....

      • Because it is a very small and active community (#1's gen ed) and we'd all be part of it together...#2 already has friends there (sibs of #1's friends), good fit for our family, etc. etc. Think #2 would be happy there and really comfortable but maybe not as "sparked."
