Jewish moms - Is it appropriate to tell extended family (distant aunt, uncle, cousins) about pregnancy at Passover? I'm 12 weeks now and we've only told close family, but feel like this is something that is better told in person than over the phone, and since we'll be going to the aunt & uncle's for the second night, is it ok to tell then? (I'm not Jewish, DH is, so I am not sure of etiquette, if there is any in this situation!)

          • Traditonally Jews wait until the end of the first trimester to tell. So, in any case, you're good to go.

              • op - telling on Passover is probably better than Yom Kippur or something, right?

            • And there is no reason why you can't tell on Passover, especially since it's a Festive holiday (rather than a solomn, fasting holiday).
