Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

at work and grandparents are babysitting for dd today. i told her they would come and pick her up after school. well, dd refused to go with grandpa at pick-up, apparently she made a huge scene and now grandpa feels awful. i am furious with her. had to vent.

wow, and you're furious? Jeez, my dd was known to make a huge scene when I picked her up -- and I picked her up every damn day. This is a funny story that can be told and retold at family dinners for decades, about how Sally had half the playground thinking Grampa was a kidnapper. Sheesh...

Did she know that he was going to pick her up? Did the teachers know? How does she usually act at pickup? Every DC is different - DS "needs" to know who is coming for him, but DD happily runs to anyone.
[ Reply | More ]i told her grandma and grandpa were coming, but grandma ended up staying home with sleeping sib.
[ Reply | More ]I'm a former teacher and I have some sympathy for her - but I also get why you'd be upset. There's nothing you can do about it now - thank the teacher for helping tomorrow and "warn" DD next time that it might be just Grandpa or just Grandma and that you expect her to behave properly.
