Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

If a person had a fairly good childhood, he or she often thinks that the best place to live is where they grew up (Don't flame, I have lived in 6 different cities in two different countries). I like where I live now, but there is nothing like going "home" even though I have not lived there in 15 years.
[ Reply | More ]NP. I'm sure what you say is true for many people, but I grew up in LA and had a great childhood, but live in NYC now and still think its the best city in the world (with London being a v. close second). I don't have that same sense of going 'home' that you seem to - sure I love seeing family & friends, but LA just does not compare to NYC imo. Think I'm just an east coast gal at heart.

DH and I both grew up in NYC and just moved to Austin because we got priced out. We will have the benefits of visiting each summer, but none of the hassles of shlepping around town with strollers, taking the subway all over the place, private schools, and tons of yuppies whose values are totally skewed.

[ Reply | More ]San Francisco, NYC (Manhattan) because I really love New York. I miss my family but don't miss that damp, gray fog. Ugh.

Long Island...New York City because I can't imagine raising them anyplace else. Have lived in several places in the US as well as abroad and there is noplace I'd rather be.
