      • It is a pretty long trip - but DC is great. Zoo, museums, mall (and monuments) - I grew up there and loved it

        • or: yes the 5 hr drive is long but you can break it up. I love the diff. things to see once you're there. My dds (ages 9yr and almost 5yr) are so excited to go. Our youngest is 5mo..but this won't be an issue for him

          • I agree - but it is a long trip for a 2.5yo, you could take the train as well, but it is expensive.

            • Just checked train fare - it would be $324 for all three of us. Kind of expensive, driving might be better.

        • I agree. I think my 2.5 year old would LOVE the museums. He has that "Goodnight Washington DC" book and likes reading it, so I think DC might be a good choice.

      • We did. Took kids there when #2 was about 17 months and #1 was 5. Went for Easter weekend, saw the cherry blossoms, went to the space museum. It was fun. Easy drive, too.

      • I think that's an excellent idea! I actually lived there until I was 10, and so would love to take my DS there.
