DH taking me out for my bday. REALLY want to see a movie. Have already seen Slumdog and happen to the one person who didn't like it. Not in the mood for anything depressing/heavy but hate Shopaholic type movies. Any reccs or should I just bag and go out to dinner? Don't seem to be many good options out right now.

        • op: I haven't seen shopaholic, but assuming that SATC is incredibly intellectual compared to that. I actually wouldn't mind seeing something like SATC, just not anything fluffier than that. I have my standards, you know! :)

    • I thought Mickey Rourke's performance in The Wrestler was one of the best I have ever seen and I am not one who would generally like movies about wrestlers and strippers.

    • Coraline. I saw it on Valentine's Day when I wanted to avoid all the overly-serious stuff in the theaters right now. It's pretty good. Not too juvenile and has some nice artistic animation.
