    - i gather they can and do. i was just providing what *might* have been a factor. we would have had to turn such an acceptance down. waitlisted at 3 places.

      - So does anyone know just how waitlists move? Are they blind to FA, or are there two separate lists - one for those who applied for FA and one for those who didn't?

        i assume that it's closer to the latter. they have kids they know they like on the WL, and if a certain kind of spot opens up (girl/boy, birthday, diversity, FA, etc.) they look again at those kids and figure out the best fit with respect to the larger class.

  - At my school there is 99 ERB DD that is diverse and shut out and at my BFF's school a 97 ERB DS and 98 ERB DD (both diverse) that are also SO. None of these families needed FA so I guess it is no easier for diverse families, just a dumb rumour by jealous people who did not get in.
