If you could think of yourself as a minority parent (your dc will be the minority in both your public and private school option), and imagine that your zoned school is only ok (decent teachers, but nothing special, not crowded yet, but lots of construction going on in the neighborhood) and your public school option is affordable with the FA package you have received, is private always the better option for a minority student in NYC?
