  • Leonard Cohen at the Beacon was the ultimate concert experience ever. Hypnotic.

    • Cohen has been on his first tour in 15 years. Europe, Asia, Australia, canada and now US and canada again. The reviews have been uniformly sensational. Three hour tour de force concert. I have seen Streisand 3 times, Sinatra in 1986 in Carnegie Hall, Dylan many times. But this Leonard concert was an ethereal experience. If you like poetry set to gorgeous music, it is a once in a life time must.

    • .... and Pink Floyd (Division Bell). In fact those are the ones that stand out in thirty years of heavy concert going.

      • I'm a little older than you and my stand-out concerts have been the Clash at Bonds, Talking Heads outdoors at Forest Hills (1st time I saw what became the Stop Making Sense tour), Prince several times but esp Purple Rain, Parliament Funkadelic at the Apollo with Philippe Wynne of the Spinners joining them

          • Wow - you saw Bob Marley? That's the one performer I would have loved to have seen. My dh saw the Beatles and it was an "experience" but a horrible musical experience.

            • It was a little strange--he was not a large man and seemed very vulnerable on the stage, for all his energy. Oddly enough, he reminded me of George Jones in a way--sort of a focused vulnerability.

          • I love Sonny Rollins! The best concert I've seen recently was The Police at the garden. They were on fire! B52s opened for them. I had the best seats in the house.

      • Of course. But he sand all his great songs. Most amazing were Who by Fire, Partisan, Anthem, If it be your will and Hallelujah, Blue rancoat. They was not a single B+. All A'a or A+
