UrbanBaby Asks...
Do you 'enjoy' spending time with your kids?
- Yes, most of the time we really have fun together
- Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's really dull and aggravating
- Honestly most of the time it's not fun at all, but it's not supposed to be fun
- I really don't enjoy it at all, and wish I could spend less time with them

I think drastically is a little strong. Trinity doubles in size for high school and they admit proven high scorers so it in no way implies a superior education. We like progressive so Dalton was obvious. We applied to Trinity also but thought that it looked like it would suck the life out of children.
[ Reply | More ]No, that is because the children who go there tend to be the offspring of very wealthy and very well-connected families OR very smart. BOTH help with getting in the ivy league.

Dalton has a majority Jewish student body, while in Trinity Jews probably make up about a third of the students. Perhaps a little over a quarter of the students are visibly diverse in Trinity, a little more than that at Dalton. Trinity has somewhat more of a balanced UES/UWS mix, while Dalton is much more UES-heavy. Both have very smart kids, as well as wealthy kids, though Trinity parents tend to be more low-key. Of course, Trinity is much harder to get into (thanks to their generous sibling policy), and has better college placement.
