  • ds has 99 ERB and we already heard NO from 3 schools, I think we will be one of those 99 shut outs people were talking about. We only applied to 2 TTs since we want co-ed and they both said no, and now worried the others will say no too because they think we'd go to a tt.

    • I would get on the phone to your psd first thing Monday and make her tell the other two schools how serious you are.

      • I've heard it happen to several people. I don't think the schools differentiate between a 95 and a 99 ERB, personally, I think once your ERBs are up to snuff, they look at the rest of the package.

      • I don't know for sure that we'll be shut out but since the 2 TTs we applied to said no, I know we're not going to a TT. I'm worried now the others won't take us seriously since they would assume we'd go to a TT.

      • np: this isn't toward the OP but when it comes to admissions, 99 erb scores isn't all that counts. The schools take the child interview, parent interview and the school report into consideration too.

      • If too much FA need shows on the Princeton form, if too many sibs, legs of either gender, if the playdate, school report and scores don't seem aligned to the admissions and believe it or not, address can also play a role. Schools sometimes factor in whether a good public option or likely g&t placement exists and may opt for a candidate lacking those possibilities.

      • it's actually not "wrong," per se. the schools should and do look at things other than ERBs, and, if the child they see in the school visit or read about in the school report doesn't match the ERB, they might well discount it. not saying that's the case here, OP, just responding to the OR above.

        • op: in our case the school report matches the ERB. PSD was very disappointed as well with the rejects.

    • 99x3 with the only accept being Claremont last year, which this board probably likens to a SO.
