  • Does weaning give you a burst of energy? What's your experience? Wondering if the kid (13 mo) is really sucking the life out of me or if it's just general fatigue.

    • You want the cold, hard, truth? You have energy because you are not nursing.....USE it, because it is so easy to stay skinny while nursing.........then you wean, and HELLO 20 pounds! I was so exhausted while nursing a 12 month old.......also,the teeth issue, so we weaned at 12 months. Good luck to you, and I am glad nursing worked out for you!

      • EEk! I am so scared of putting in weight. I just got down to pre-preg. weight. Maybe I'll wait until the spring when I can go for those long walks.

        • I so wish I had known that the weight would rush back! I am still fighting it, but do have the energy to do something about it. When nursing, all I wanted to do was sit and hold the baby!

    • You don't get a burst of energy until the child is seven (and that is only if you have an only!!!)
