  • My MIL (and FIL, but he's not the problem) just arrived for an 8-week stay. They're Chinese and she has a very strong personality, shall we say. Give me patience!

    • i don't know why there's this stereotype about all asian women being passivie and submissive. maybe true for japanese but chinese women are the opposite!

      • Absolutely! the other stereotype, about matriarchal families, is much more accurate and much more painful when the 'matriarch' arrives for a long stay!

      • I do but currently on maternity leave with db number 2. I'm hoping to go back to work soon! 8 weeks is too long for me, but last time they came for 13 so I'm counting myself lucky.
