  • 37 1/2 wks pregnant and have the worst cold of all time, I feel horrific, plus anxious that I might go in to labor feeling this sick. Do people just get run down at the end of pregnancy? It will pass, right? Ugh so stressed....

    • Ugh - I had a sinus infection in my 3rd tri and it was just awful. Are you able to rest at all?

      • Yes, I asked our part time sitter to come in and be w/our 3 yr old this AM so I could try to take it easy. I am so miserable and it's hard to sleep :(

    • It's the cold and flu season and you're miserable because you can't take the usual over the counter medications. It's not an end of pregnancy thing. Yes it will pass, stay home and take approved homeopathic remedies.

    • I was also sick at 37 1/2 weeks - felt terrible and anxious about going to labor. At 38 weeks on the dot, I felt better...and I went into active labor. It all turned out fine....DB was born healthy.

      • OK thanks. Something about the whole process is a bit nerve-wracking right now, from being sick to being so close to delivery to just general anxiety over having #2!

    • Sorry that really sucks but I'm pretty sure that your body is smart enough NOT to go into labor when you aren't well! As soon as you feel better/ready, then it will happen. GL!

    • I felt in both of my pregnancies that my usually strong immune system was compromised both times. I hope you get better soon. Being sick while pregnant always felt so much worse than just being sick when you're not pg

    • I had the same thing with both pregnancies. And within a few hours of giving birth (really), the cold was done. I don't know the medical reason but it happened. Good luck

        • Same exact thing happened to me - terrible cold, worried about being sick with new baby, got better immediately after labor. I also took something OTC to help me sleep (midwife approved it - thought that lack of sleep due to sinuses/coughing was keeping me from getting better.)

          • So weird! This is cheering me up. Thanks! (I took tylenol, which did help a bit but still, UGH)

    • i know people will flame this - but try afrin. when i had the same issue at the end of my pg i used it and it let me breathe enough to sleep. i just used it before bed, not more than 3 days in a row, and it made all the difference in the world.
