My 4 yr old dd woke up this morning screaming for me and when I went in there she said that she wanted to lay down in my bed becasue her tummy hurt. I brought her into the bathroom just in case and considering the fact that she really didn't eat her dinner, I'm not sure what made her stomach hurt. My dh offereed some toast which is said yes to. After eating a few bites she said that she was feeling a little better, but she didn't want to go to school (daycare). My dh normally brings her to school and we decided to keep her home. Do you think at age 4 they know already how to pretend to feel sick, just so they can stay home?

    • Kids are so smart that I would not put it past them, but good call on keeping her home. Maybe it was just hunger or gas pains but better safe than sorry!

      • Yea.. that is what we were thinking. It is just frustrating becasue she will sit home all day and want to watch TV.

      • Really.. is it going around your daycare (school)? My dd was fine all weekend, the only thing was she I made soup for lunch and she refused it, so we didn't make anything else for her. She did have a snack in the afternoon. For dinner we made pizza and she refused that, so she didn't get anything for dinner. I just think she is hungrey, but i'm not sure. Now i feel like a terrible Mom.

        • When my dd got a stomach bug last year she started by refusing food, then came the yucky flu part... Maybe she's just feeling off?
